What helps me help you
Tell me what you were doing and what happened. A screenshot helps, and so do your device model and iOS version. If an error screen shows a line that starts with "Ref:", please include it, with the time it happened.
Looking around before you start
On the first screen, "Look around first" opens a sample wardrobe that is already filled in and marked "Sample wardrobe", so you can see how Mera works. Opening it sends no photo of yours and uses nothing from your monthly limits. When you are ready, tap "Start with my photo". The sample wardrobe goes away once your own analysis is done, and you can remove it sooner in Profile > Settings > Remove the sample wardrobe.
Adding your clothes
- In the Wardrobe tab, tap + and choose Add a piece. Photograph one piece at a time, or pick up to ten photos from your library at once. Mera identifies each one and you confirm them in turn.
- To add several pieces from one photo, choose Add a full look and photograph the outfit you are wearing. Mera lists each piece it can see.
- A plain background and daylight give the cleanest cut-out and the most accurate name.
- If Mera gets a name, category or color wrong, open the piece and tap the pencil to change it.
- Adding clothes never uses a look. Outfit ideas get better as your wardrobe grows, and a capsule needs at least four pieces.
When the profile doesn't feel like you
- Every part of your style profile can be changed: open Profile and tap the pencil. Mera uses your version from then on.
- The body type is the hardest part to read from a face alone, so a full-length photo during setup helps.
- To run the analysis again with new photos, use Profile > Settings > Start over. Your photos are sent to the cloud again. Within an hour of your first analysis this is free; after that it uses one look. Your wardrobe, saved outfits and history stay.

Looks and renders
A look is one styling request: an outfit, a wardrobe audit, a capsule, a check before you buy or a list of what your wardrobe is missing. A render is one generated picture of an outfit, on you when Mera has your photo. The free plan includes 10 looks and 2 renders a month, and Premium includes 200 looks and 30 renders.
- They start again on the 1st of each month at midnight UTC, and the plan screen shows the date. Unused ones don't carry over.
- When you reach a limit, only new styling requests pause. Your wardrobe, saved outfits, wear history and sharing keep working.
- If a request fails, the look or render it would have used is returned.
- Adding clothes and your first style profile don't use a look. If you turn on Profile > Settings > Style my look overnight, each outfit Mera styles for you overnight uses one.
- If Mera says you've reached today's limit, it picks up again after midnight UTC.
Premium
Premium raises the limits to 200 looks and 30 renders a month, and uses a larger model to name your clothes and write outfit ideas. It doesn't open any screen or feature that the free plan lacks. The price for your country is shown in the app before you buy.
- Your plan: Profile > Settings, then the plan row at the top.
- Cancel: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Mera. Everything you have made stays after you cancel.
- Restore: open the plan screen and tap Restore purchases.
- Refunds: Apple handles them. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where your photos go
When you use a styling feature, the photos and text it needs go to Mera's servers, hosted on Cloudflare, and from there to Anthropic or OpenAI to produce the result. Apple provides the weather forecast and your iCloud sync. I keep no copy of your photos, and the result is held for about an hour so a dropped connection can retry without using your allowance again. Anthropic and OpenAI may hold a request for up to 30 days to check for abuse, longer only if it is flagged or the law requires it, and neither may use it to train their models. Your wardrobe, outfits and profile stay on your device and in your own iCloud.
To stop sending your photos and wardrobe details, turn off Profile > Settings > Send my photos for cloud styling. Nothing goes to Anthropic or OpenAI while it is off. Your wardrobe, saved outfits, wear tracking and sharing keep working; new styling requests don't. The app still contacts Mera's servers to check your plan and deliver notifications, and sends usage counts unless you also turn off Profile > Settings > Share anonymous usage data. The privacy policy lists what each company receives.
Deleting your data
Profile > Settings > Delete my server data removes the record for your device's anonymous identifier and everything keyed to it, immediately. The only records kept are refund-fraud records tied to Apple transactions. Your wardrobe, looks and profile stay on your device and in your iCloud.
Deleting the app does not remove the server record, because nothing tells me the app was deleted, so use the button or email me. Deleting lowers your allowance rather than resetting it: until the 1st, the device gets 2 looks and no renders. A Premium subscription stays active with Apple but is no longer linked to the device; email me with the date you subscribed. The next time the app talks to Mera's servers, for notifications, usage data or styling, a new anonymous record is created.
Weather and location
Weather comes from Apple Weather. Mera asks for your approximate location on the Outfits tab, and nowhere else. If you say no, outfit ideas are made without the weather and everything else works. Only the weather and your city's name leave your device. To change your answer, open Settings > Apps > Mera > Location on your iPhone or iPad.
When something goes wrong
- The analysis says it needs a person in the photo: use a well-lit photo where your face is clearly visible, then try again.
- A generated picture is slow: it usually takes a minute or two.
- A piece has a rough cut-out: retake the photo on a plainer background.
- The widget hasn't updated: open Mera. It picks today's outfit when it opens.
- Your wardrobe isn't on a new device: check that iCloud is on and signed in to the same Apple Account on both.
- Anything else: email me with the "Ref:" line if there is one.
Who can use Mera
Mera is for people aged 13 and over, or older where the law sets a higher age. The Terms of Use and the privacy policy have the details.
